Montreal Canadiens defenseman Arber Xhekaj just confirmed a major rumor during a press conference.

The word has been circulating since the beginning of the summer, but the Sheriff has made it very clear: their goal is to make the playoffs next season!

Wow, we love it.

You can definitely expect this statement to resurface during the Canadiens' annual golf tournament. Is the rebuild over? Is the infamous "P" word gone?

Arber Xhekaj confirms the Canadiens' intentions

Did he speak too soon and give away the scoop a bit early?

Regardless, he simply mentioned what other players are likely to confirm at the golf tournament, and it's great news for the fans.

If the Canadiens are serious about making the playoffs next season, expect Kent Hughes to make moves and trade to add some reinforcements, especially at forward.

«Our goal is to make the playoffs next season. We can't keep losing so many games in overtime. We need to find a solution.»

- Arber Xhekaj

This bodes well for next year!

Additionally, Xhekaj, who just signed a two-year contract with Montreal, also spoke about his surgery and injury.

«The fact that I've had surgery on both shoulders doesn't worry me. It won't change my game.»

«The surgery on my shoulder went well. I feel strong. I'll be ready for training camp.»

- Arber Xhekaj

All good news!
