In the case of the trade requested by Martin Necas, we have new developments that could change everything for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens.

The new general manager of the Carolina Hurricanes, Eric Tulsky, has just provided an unexpected update on this matter.

While all sources indicated that Martin Necas had played his last game with the Hurricanes, following statements by his father and his trade request, this could completely change things.

Carolina Hurricanes announce that Martin Necas is expected to return to the team in 2024-2025: one less option for Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens

See his exact words.

Tulsky on Necas: "As of right now he's an RFA with us, headed for arbitration where he'll get either a 1 or 2 year contract. And he'll play for us. If something happens between now and then, then that'll happen. But right now that's what I'd assume."

This is a major development in this tumultuous case.

Judging by the comments, Canes fans do not seem happy with this update, believing that Necas does not fit their style of play at all.

We must obviously trust the words of general manager Tulsky, but at the same time, many observers believe this could be a negotiation tactic.

After all, Tulsky has no interest in painting himself into a corner and confirming that Necas has played his last game there. This would obviously lower his value in the trade market.

In short, it is a case to follow and important for the Montreal Canadiens, knowing that Kent Hughes is involved in the matter.
