Trade completed between MTL and WPG? A New York source drops a big scoop
A well-known New York radio host, known as Incarcerated Bob, has just dropped a rare scoop involving a Montreal Canadiens trade.
It's rare for him to talk about the Habs, so when he does, it's because he has solid information.
For those who don't know Bob, he has a long history of breaking scoops, especially involving NHL trades and the Montreal Canadiens (trades that he announced before anyone else).
He has often been the first to announce a trade, and notably, he was the very first to announce Martin St-Louis's hiring by the Habs in 2022.
« lInteresting news from Bob, who was the first person to break the Habs hiring of coach Marty St. Louis back in 2022.

In short, he has very good sources.
A scoop on a trade discussion between Kent Hughes and Kevin Cheveldayoff for Rutger McGroarty
And here is his famous post in question:
« McGroarty whispers are starting to get a little louder. Jets talking with three teams with an offer expected to be on the table from Canadiens.
Habs interest first reported here last week..

So, it seems to be truly serious.
This matter is evidently intensifying, and it's quite interesting.
Since his hiring as the Habs' general manager, Kent Hughes has accustomed us to deals being completed in the middle of July (notably those of Jeff Petry and Mike Matheson).
Will he do it again in the next few hours?
To be continued, but let's just say that with acquisitions like Rutger McGroarty, Ivan Demidov, and Michael Hage, Kent Hughes could definitely say «mission accomplished» for his 2024 offseason.
The Canadiens have reportedly offered three pieces in a trade for McGroarty, according to Slovak media:
