The Filip Mesar file continues to be the talk of the town and to have its ups and downs with the Montreal Canadiens.

After being listed as a "left out" player on the Rocket roster, in fact, after simply being left out of the lineup yesterday, we have just witnessed a reversal of the situation.

This morning, against all expectations, Mesar is on his way to start the season in Laval!

We just learned, via Anthony Marcotte, that Filip Mesar is being used on a regular line-up with Jan Mysak and Lucas Condotta.

This means that he will start the season with the Rocket. Interesting! Did Kent Hughes get involved?

That could still change, but it's surprising, especially considering that Kent Hughes implied on Wednesday that he'd rather see Filip Mesar dominate at the junior level, than amass 40 points in the AHL.

Laval Rocket's practice lineup:

Hughes really sounded like a GM who was about to give up Mesar to Kitchener, but something happened.

Remember that the young Mesar really wanted to have his chance with the Rocket and he didn't hide his preference for Laval. To be continued!
