Early last week, the Montreal Canadiens announced that they intended to provide us with a clear update regarding the mysterious Sean Monahan file.
"The Canadiens say they intend to provide an update on Sean Monahan's status by the end of the week. No update at this time." - Eric Engels, who reported this early last week
Obviously, last week ended and we still have no news.
No news, good news? That's what we'll find out in the next few hours and it's definitely something to keep an eye on.
«So I'm assuming that by saying "by the end of the week" they meant next week?" - HabsLinks
By the way, this is really not a criticism of the organization. It is simply an observation and seems to indicate that this issue is unfortunately not going as planned.
«The CH was supposed to give news about Monahan before last Friday, and yet, it is still radio silence in this file.»
We are also looking forward to hearing from the CH on this matter, so that the speculations will stop, as some are saying that his season could be over.
In any case, let's hope that Monahan can come back at 100%, because he is still a solid hockey player and he is still young.
Monahan, 28, has a solid 17 points in 25 games this season, his first with the Habs. He was acquired this summer from the Calgary Flames with a first round pick for future considerations.
More details to come.
