Colorado Avalanche reporter Peter Baugh has just announced that forward Alex Galchenyuk has been released from his professional trial.
His "journey" in Colorado was very quick, as he was released even before the waves of cuts. So he was really far from breaking into the lineup.
The former Montreal Canadien only played one preseason game, and that was enough for the Avalanche to make a decision about him.
The season starts in less than two weeks, and everything indicates that he will have to try his luck on the other side of the ocean, or in the American Hockey League (after being released from his 8th team in 11 years).
Galchenyuk, 28, was drafted 3rd overall by the CH in 2012. He had 21 points in 60 games with the Coyotes last season.
It really seems to be over for him in the NHL, unfortunately.
