In the last few hours, the players of the Montreal Canadiens have experienced several twists and turns.
They had two flights that were delayed, one due to weather conditions and another due to a mechanical failure. They were stuck in Denver.
Then we learned that they might be forced to spend Christmas away from their families, a sad news.
Discussions are currently underway with the NHL as the CH is concerned that they will not be able to return to Montreal on the night of the 23rd to 24th to celebrate Christmas with their families.
The collective bargaining agreement requires NHL clubs to give players three days off at Christmas, except if Dec. 26 is a Saturday, it's two days
It also explains why the CH is concerned about the weather in Montreal and the club will not compromise safety." -Luc Gélinas
Many fans went on to criticize Bettman for always having the Habs on the road during the holidays.
On that subject, journalist Luc Gélinas taught us a good one.
"Actually, you're talking nonsense. It's the CanadiensMTL who are asking to play away during the holiday season.
The CH group reaps huge profits during the absence of the club by presenting shows every day (sometimes 3 shows a day) "
Interesting! So this is coming from the CH, not the NHL, contrary to some rumors that are circulating.
In any case, let's sincerely hope that the players can spend Christmas with their families this year. They deserve it!
