Forward David Perron had an incredible season last year with 58 points, including 19 goals, in 56 games. The 33-year-old is in the prime of his career right now, despite his advanced age.

Montreal Canadiens fans have always wanted him in Montreal, but the Sherbrooke native has always been particularly attached to the city of St.Louis.

He was on "On Jase" with Martin Lemay and Yannick Lévesque to talk about the current campaign and to answer questions from fans.

Martin Lemay, the host quoted him one of the questions of a supporter to know why Perron did not come to Montreal, as Mathieu Perreault, Cédric Paquette and David Savard did. Lemay told him that he didn't really have to answer the question, so as not to get into trouble.

However, David Perron still took the time to answer the question, against all odds.

His answer might surprise some people. One thing we can understand, it is not about Montreal... for now.

"Regarding the question about the Canadiens, I have a contract to respect, I am very happy in St.Louis. My family and I love living here. We'll see what happens in the future though."

From what I can gather, for now he's in St.Louis, but he doesn't seem to be closing the door on the Habs in the future. Maybe he'll follow in the footsteps of some of his fellow Quebecers who decided to come and finish their careers in Montreal after his deal with the Blues ends.
