A few days ago, Elliotte Friedman reported in an edition of 32 Thoughts that Claude Giroux, having just arrived in Florida, was already looking for his next training. The latter, according to the informant, would like to be closer to his family and friends. He would even have started to do his research on the city of Ottawa...
Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun adds more on the subject. In a recent radio appearance with Nicolas St-Pierre and Wayne Scanlan, he mentions that not only could Ottawa be interested in the forward, but also the Montreal Canadiens.
"I think the Ottawa Senators, and let's be brief on this, it's probably a bigger discussion for another day, but I think the Ottawa Senators are going to be interested in Claude Giroux this offseason. And I think the Montreal Canadiens will as well." - Bruce Garrioch
The Franco-Ontarian native of Hearst, Ontario had 42 points in 57 games this season in Philadelphia. He will be a free agent as early as this summer as he completes the final year of an eight-year contract valued at $66.2 million signed in July 2013.
