In fact, we can already say that some hockey fans are wondering which players are likely to leave the Habs this season.
However, as J.B. Gagné of GoHabsGo reports, there are certainly some untouchables on the team, especially three prospects in particular.
Trege Wilson, of The Hockey Writers, has compiled a list of the Habs' young prospects who are untouchables, in his eyes.
We're talking about Lane Hutson, Kaiden Guhle and of course Juraj Slafkovsky. In the case of the latter, Wilson even went so far as to say that in the near future, he could form one of the best trios in the NHL with Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki.
As for Guhle, he was the most NHL-ready defenceman in Canadian junior last year, and the Habs' first pick in 2020 will likely make the loss of Alexander Romanov a thing of the past, and Wilson even compared him to a certain Shea Weber.
As for Hutson, despite his small stature, he impressed at the orientation camp following the last draft and has offensive potential according to Wilson. It's a surprise to see him on this list, as he doesn't have the aura of a Slafkovsky or Guhle (who are first round picks), but honestly, we agree 100%. His potential is far too immense, we can't trade him.
It's still early to predict which of these three prospects will have the most prolific NHL career, but one thing is for sure, all three of these players will be ones to watch during the Habs' rookie camp.
