NHL insider Pierre LeBrun recently revealed which teams Tkachuk wanted to be traded to. The list is not really surprising (except for a funny surprise), it included the Colorado Avalanche, Tampa Bay Lightning, Vegas Golden Knights, Carolina Hurricanes and of course, the Florida Panthers.
Following the trade, Tkachuk did everything he could to win over the Panthers fan base. He made it clear that the Panthers were the only team he wanted to play for, something we just saw is wrong.
He went on to express how much he disliked the Tampa Bay Lightning and that he has always hated them... well surprise! The Lightning was on Tkachuk's famous list, that's right!
A TRIP TO FLORIDA
With training camp about a week away, Tkachuk traveled to Florida and on Wednesday night, he was the special guest of the Miami Marlins. Tkachuk had the opportunity to throw out the first pitch of the game. Unfortunately for Tkachuk, it didn't go as well as I'm sure he hoped. It is clear that he is a hockey player and not a baseball player...
Tkachuk will be looking to lead the Panthers to a second consecutive President's Trophy when the season begins in three weeks. It will be interesting to see if the team is better with him than with Huberdeau and Weegar.
