Some players have impressed in training camp and continue their success in their respective leagues, while other players are currently exceeding expectations in the big league with the Tricolore.
One fan has put together a great summary of how Kent Hughes has made a big splash with many of his summer acquisitions:
This is indeed an excellent summary. And we can add to that:
- The Panthers' 2023 first-round pick (acquired for Ben Chiarot)
- Kirby Dach, acquired for Alex Romanov
- The addition of the surprising Emil Heineman
And we probably go on.
It will be interesting to watch over the next few years, but with the new leadership in place, the Montreal Canadiens really seem to be moving in the right direction, and it's really nice to see.
Lane Hutson is showing that he has the potential to be a really special defenseman, Filip Mesar and Owen Beck were two big revelations of the 2022 camp (and they are currently destroying junior), Jonhatan Kovacevic is bringing a really interesting element, Sean Monahan is back to being the dominant player he was a few years ago, and what about Arber Xhekaj!
So far, we have to admit that Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton are doing a great job. The recent additions have been a great boost for the future of the organization.
