The informant Kevin Weekes has just given us some good news, as he has been dropping several hints for the past few months regarding a possible surprise return of the Atlanta Thrashers to the NHL.
According to his information, the state of Georgia is about to make a major announcement.
«Case to watch!
There will be an announcement tomorrow regarding a possible arena development project in Georgia (Atlanta), a big enough project to house a hockey team. If they build it, will they come? (the Thrashers)»
- Kevin Weekes
Something tells me that Gary Bettman is involved.
Considering this, the persistent rumors of new expansions in the NHL, and everything that's being said behind the scenes, we can certainly wonder if we will see the Atlanta Thrashers back in the NHL soon. Or at least, in a few years.
It would be quite a theatrical twist, but several sources seem to believe it.
Renaud Lavoie also publicly responded to Weekes:
What about Quebec City ? They build it ? Are they here ?
- Renaud Lavoie
Will Atlanta have a third chance before Quebec? Unfortunately, it seems to be heading in that direction.
A huge case to follow tomorrow.
