The world of hockey is mourning today.
A USHL team, the Metro Jets, have just announced that their young 19-year-old defender, Braydin Lewis, has unfortunately passed away after a battle with cancer.
We are at a loss for words.
It happened last night. We are talking about a very promising young defender, who notably collected a solid 45 points in 37 games in his last season.
Even after his cancer diagnosis, Lewis was determined to come back to the game and was able to play 6 games this season! (4 points including 3 goals)
«After his diagnosis last summer, he was determined to come back for his third season. Not only did he come back, but he played while undergoing treatment. Lewey's strength and determination were a source of inspiration for the team, and he showed up to support his teammates at every opportunity. »
Wow! A true warrior! Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this terrible ordeal. Rest in peace Braydin.
