In the last few seconds, tipster and analyst Kevin Weekes (ESPN) just released some surprising news about goalie Jake Allen.
A nice surprise:
While there have been numerous trade rumors for months involving Allen (due to his expiring contract), now there could be a big turnaround on this issue.
Instead of trading him, Kent Hughes is reportedly in the process of offering him a multi-season contract extension, making him the Montreal Canadiens' new number one goalie (in the absence of Carey Price).
Allen, 32, is currently in the final year of a contract that pays him $2.875 million annually.
Do you like the idea of extending his contract for a few more seasons? Or would you rather the CH trade him and get a younger goalie?
A file to follow closely, but it is a very interesting development!
