We told you earlier this week that now that there have been major changes in the Montreal Canadiens' leadership, we are learning more about what was going on behind the scenes during the Marc Bergevin era:

Serge Savard (among others) had a lot to say about the Marc Bergevin era, as he openly criticized the treatment of the organization's former players during his almost ten-year reign.

"Alumni, we've had a tough time with Marc Bergevin."

"He [Bergevin] didn't want to have anyone around the [players'] room. Even to get to the alumni room, you had to take a detour to the La Presse room."

Let's just say that this was not the case when he was a player or even a general manager when Habs alumni were more than welcome in the team's entourage, as he explains in the article above.

In short, as reported by DansLesCoulisses.com, in a recent interview on BPM Sports, CH Vice President, Hockey Communications Chantal Machabée announced some change coming to the Montreal Canadiens in this regard.

Machabée very clearly confirmed, on Sports Central, that alumni will no longer have to make a detour to avoid the players' room, next season.

They will be welcomed.

It's a new era and they want to bring the alumni back into the club's fold. It's brilliant, they have so much to contribute to the younger players!

You can already see the effect of Hughes and Machabee on the team and the atmosphere around it!

Let's also remember this, from this interview:
