Over the weekend, the ECHL announced that it was suspending Mikael Robidoux indefinitely for an incident involving a fan.

Robidoux, 23, currently plays for the Allen Americans in the ECHL. In a game this weekend against the Wichita Thunder, things got heated between the two teams. After Robidoux was penalized for goaltender interference, he lost his cool. So much so that he received a 10-minute misconduct.

That's when things got out of hand. While skating off the ice, a fan in the stands said something to an upset Robidoux. Unfortunately, Robidoux didn't handle it well and immediately slashed and punched the fan who appeared to be trying to grab his stick.

The ECHL handed Robidoux a stiff suspension on Thursday, suspending him for 14 games.

This is not Robidoux's first offence. During his time in Quebec junior hockey, he was suspended for 15 games by the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), the day after he hit Xavier Simoneau of the Drummondville Voltigeurs. It was his eighth suspension in the Courteau circuit.

A year later, he was suspended for a ninth time in his career, this time for ten games, after dangerously hitting Antoine Leblanc of the Shawinigan Cataractes.
