After many months of waiting, the 2022-2023 regular season of the Canadiens has finally begun.

Although no miracles can be expected this year, fans are eager to see the newcomers like Kirby Dach, Kaiden Guhle and the revelation of the last camp Arber Xhekaj in action.

However, it is Juraj Slafkovsky who will be the one to catch the attention of all hockey fans in Quebec during the first games of the season. The very first pick in the last draft has earned his place in the final 23-man roster.

There are many questions about what his offensive production could be in his rookie year in the NHL and as reported by Nicolas Desrosiers of GoHabsGo, a well-known hockey analyst in Quebec has set the bar pretty high regarding the 18-year-old Slovakian.

While appearing on BPM Sports, Norman Flynn went ahead and made a bold prediction about how many points Slafkovsky will get this season. He wasn't fazed by his usage against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

He believes he will reach the 50 point plateau in his first NHL season. 50 points for Slafkovsky, according to Flynn.

Admittedly, that's still putting pressure on the 18-year-old because the last first overall pick to reach that plateau was Nico Hischier with the New Jersey Devils in 2017-2018.

For Slafkovsky to be able to get 50 points, there are several factors to consider. Such as his usage, injuries and also the possibility of him spending time in the AHL with the Laval Rocket.

That being said, it is possible that number 20 will be able to reach the 50 point plateau but as they say, all the pieces of the puzzle will have to fall in the right place.

What do you think?
