According to journalist Stu Cowan, Rafaël Harvey-Pinard's replacement may already be targeted.
It's indeed a name well-known to Montreal Canadiens fans.
First, let's recall the unfortunate news we learned in recent days: forward Rafaël Harvey-Pinard suffered a serious injury at the worst possible time.
The Quebec native underwent surgery on his leg following a fracture and will miss several months of action.
The Montreal Canadiens will therefore have to replace Rafaël Harvey-Pinard to start the season
And according to the excellent journalist Stu Cowan, it's indeed a name familiar to fans who could replace him.
He believes none other than Florian Xhekaj could take RHP's place on the fourth line.
Wow.
It would be quite a promotion for Arber's younger brother, but we must admit it could be a sight to see the Xhekaj brothers making their mark on the ice.
Let's say the other Habs players would be safe.
"Stu Cowan predicts that the player who could take RHP's place on the fourth line is Florian Xhekaj.
According to him, the logical choice would indeed be Florian Xhekaj.
He has mentioned several times that he belongs in the Habs' lineup starting next season, and it seems he might take advantage of RHP's injury to prove himself."
This will be a situation to watch next September, but it's true that the door has just opened for him.
Xhekaj, aged 20, is a 6-foot-4, nearly 200-pound forward. He was selected 101st overall by the Habs in 2023.
Last season, in 63 games with the Brantford Bulldogs, he amassed 65 points in the OHL and also made his debut with the Laval Rocket (in the AHL).
What do you think? Do you believe Florian Xhekaj would make a good replacement for Harvey-Pinard on the Canadiens' fourth line?
