The trade that brought Patrik Laine to Montreal gave new life to the summer for Canadiens fans, Nick Suzuki, andKent Hughes.
Since then, many have been eager to see how the forward will perform with the Montreal Canadiens this season.
Several of them were present in Brossard at the beginning of the week to watch his first strides in a Blue-White-Red jersey.
From what I've seen since his arrival with the club, Laine is a player who grows on you.
His first interview made a good impression, and I feel, with the flair he showed while visiting the club's facilities, that he will be quite entertaining during the season.
One aspect that seems to go unnoticed is his generosity. He recently demonstrated this by taking the time to give an interview to a young teenager. On the YouTube channel Jake's Takes, Laine took no less than a dozen minutes of his time to answer the young man's questions.
One of the questions led to an excellent response from the new number 92 of the Habs. It came when Laine was asked which NHL player he hated facing the most.
Here is his response:
"I would say Victor Hedman just because of how good he is. He's so fast, so big, so strong, and so good with his stick. He's a nightmare to play against."

Laine wasn't finished; he added another name, which was quite obvious, I would say, as someone he hates facing.
"There's also obviously Connor McDavid. There's nothing you can do against him! When he picks up the puck in his zone, all you can do is pray that he doesn't go and score!"

The Canadiens' new forward will undoubtedly be happy to face the Oilers' number 97 only twice this season. He won't see much more of the Lightning defenseman either, as the current NHL schedule only includes three games against division rivals. However, he could face him in the coming years if he stays in town, as a MTL-Tampa series could be quite possible.
Another interesting statement from the Canadiens' newcomer is that he seems to enjoy his new role as a veteran. He looks forward to helping the younger players and sharing the experiences he has gained in the league, even though he is only 26.
"I think we will have a pretty dangerous group on the ice," he mentioned enthusiastically. "It's a bit weird to be one of the oldest players even though I'm only 26. I've been in the league for a long time and have seen and experienced a lot. I hope to be able to share my knowledge with the young players and help them in certain situations."

We love it!
