Jessica Campbell, the new coach of the Kraken, puts a media outlet in its place
The new assistant coach of the Seattle Kraken, Jessica Campbell, experienced her first official press conference in recent hours.
She was predominantly questioned about being the first woman to be appointed behind an NHL bench, and she sent a clear message to the journalists.
We love it.
Jessica Campbell sends a clear message
Here is an excerpt from one of her responses that speaks volumes.
"I love this response from the new assistant coach of the Seattle Kraken, Jessica Campbell, to Chris Daniels (journalist) about her journey to reach this goal of making it to the NHL.
She achieved offensive results in Coachella, and I would expect the same with the Kraken this winter." - Niko Tamurian
And a transcript.
"I just need to trust myself, show up every day, and rely on those who truly matter. I believe I just need to be prepared every day, do the work, and have my own voice while bringing my skills and abilities.
I shouldn't hold back, I know I can make a difference and I need to trust in what I'm doing and not focus on the distractions. The barriers that exist are usually the ones we set for ourselves.
I'm focused on the goal, and I want to be a better person and a better coach every day!" - Jessica Campbell
Watch the video:
This also responds to a certain media outlet, which we will not name, that accused the Seattle Kraken of just trying to make a marketing stunt.
Clearly, Jessica Campbell is extremely qualified for the job, and she knows what she's doing.
It's truly inspiring! She will obviously be in charge of the offense, so it will be really interesting to watch.
